But I’ve found that starting a little bit narrower at the nut can be a really welcomed feel. Almost all Strats generally don’t taper out to be as wide as gibsons at the 12th fret, so we realize that it’s not just about nut width. Hence, strats are easier for me to grip with my thumb on the low E string than on most gibsons (modern gibsons usually havingĪn 1 11/16ths nut width). But I was lucky enough to have an opportunity at this 67’ and decided to go for it.Īlso, for thumb over blues and rock chord work / playing I actually prefer smaller fretboard widths. I bet they’ll be great though, whenever they are finally shipped. I’m since off the wait list for one of these new casinos. Woops.I couldn’t wait any longer, so I bought an all original 67’ casino. ![]()
